(Instrumental) (Danny Boy) To Sing To. Best Ever Irish Pub Song (Oh Danny Boy). ‘Londonderry Air’ (Danny Boy) (Irish Folk Music) (Celtic harp & tin whistle) Beautiful Northern Irish Anthem “Londonderry Aire”, also known as “Oh’ Danny Boy” Performed with Celtic harp and tin whistle.
The song has been interpreted by some listeners as a message from a parent to a son going off to war or leaving as part of the Irish diaspora. Some interpret it differently! such a dying father speaking to his leaving Danny. The phrase, “the pipes, the pipes are calling”, in this interpretation, could refer to the Traditional Funeral instrument. The song is widely considered an Irish Anthem. “Danny Boy” is considered by many Irish Americans and Irish Canadians to be their unofficial signature song. here is some history about the song and music, although the song lirics does have a scottish Air to it, cuz mentions of glens, mountainsides and Bagpipes (Pipes) but there is strong evidence that the (Music) has been identified as irish folk music composed in 1796, classed As ‘Ancient Irish Music’ by an unknown composer as the historic and unidentified collection of music sheets was only recently discovered in ireland in 1979, but its absolute identity may never be fully known, and Different words have been added to the music over the years, and they have changed several times. as to the politics of the song, i have none. to me its just a beautiful and sad song, but on here it is the simple harp and tin whistle sad folk Music that appealed to me rather than the words, Although the words (Lyrics) are Beautiful. the words are british! but the Music is irish. The melody which is called the Londonderry Air is credited to Jane Ross who penned the melody in 1855 and lived in Limavady, just outside Londonderry in Northern Ireland, the same melody is also the national anthem for Northern Ireland in sporting events sometimes with the Danny Boy lyrics and sometimes with the older original lyrics which are not as well known, The Song Danny Boy Is Often Used At a Funeral Service or Sung in Pubs. The most popular lyrics for the tune are “Danny Boy” (“Oh Danny Boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling”), written by English lawyer Frederick Edward Weatherly in 1910, and set to the tune in 1913. Saint Patrick’s Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick (Irish: Lá Fhéile Pádraig, “the Day of the Festival of Patrick”), is a cultural and religious celebration held on 17 March, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick the foremost patron saint of Ireland. The Famous St Patrick’s Day Song Danny Boy, Here is the most Popular Lyrics Used today…..! Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling. From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer’s gone, and all the flowers are dying
‘Tis you, ’tis you must go and I must bide.

But come ye back when summer’s in the meadow
Or when the valley’s hushed and white with snow
‘Tis I’ll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.

And if you come, when all the flowers are dying
And I am dead, as dead I well may be
You’ll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an “Ave” there for me.

And I shall hear, tho’ soft you tread above me
And all my dreams will warm and sweeter be
If you’ll not fail to tell me that you love me
I’ll simply sleep in peace until you come to me. I’ll simply sleep in peace until you come to me… The End. i love all these old time Irish Folk songs and Music and the Sweet Irish And Scottish Celtic Folk Song Ballads. so i’m just letting you know i have another beautiful irish folk song on my youtube channel its title is (irish Boy) Its a classical Flute Piano Keyboard and Harp music instrumental with a collection of old irish towns and countryside movies clips, best films ever, hope you have a look and listen to it. its a Best Ever Version.
